I am Ali Treloar and for the past 2 and a half years I have been living in Haiti working at Tytoo Gardens Orphanage. Tytoo Gardens has about 40 children who call this orphanage home. Tytoo Gardens is not only an orphange but also has an elder program, a clinic, school sponsorship, a transition program, and starfish program. My responsibilities at Tytoo are the administration and finances, and to run the Starfish program alongside a Haitian woman named Mommy Sarah. Since Tytoo is an orphange we often times get women coming to our gate saying " I have no food, my kids dont go to school, I have no  where to live, please take my children," We say to those women, no we wont take your children but we will help you. Many of those women get admitted into our Starfish program.  Starfish meets twice a month and we do educational lessons with the women. Our goal is to provide short term assistance that will lead to long term independence. Finding employment for these women is our end goal. But of course feeding into them spiritually, emotionally, and physically are all aspects of the program that helps us meet our end goal.. I have gotten to experience over 40 women graduate from the starfish program, and watch them reunite and care for their children.I have also  help manage many small businesses such as The Denim Project, which employs starfish women, by teaching them skills (sewing, jewelry making etc). Mommy Sarah and I have started  a Depot which helps provide multiple small business loans. The Depot  sells rice, beans, corn and other haitian food essentials. We allow starfish women to receive small businesses from the Depot. They choose their inventory and can buy on credit,  when they have sold all their goods, they come back, pay their balance and can receive goods again on credit. One of the newest things I have started is teaching an English class in a nearby village. This class is for young adults who truly desire to learn English. We meet twice a week and we have a blast! I love hearing them progress and use the words and lessons they have been taught in class. I have come a long way since the beginning of this journey. God has used me in ways I never thought I would be used and I know this journey is far from over. Theres a lot more in-store for my work here in Haiti.  Donations  are the only way I am able to  continue working in Haiti and continue helping all the different programs and being able to create more programs to impact the lives of many.  I appreciate your support and donations, and so do many children, and families in Haiti.
