Baby Levi Taylor was born on December 13, 2014 -extremely premature at 23 weeks with a twin brother, Aizley! He spent the first 6 months of his life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Sunrise Hospital. Levi had severe neurologic impairment among other problems including chronic lung disease requiring a dependency to oxygen, he had an inability to eat food orally and required a feeding tube "Mickey Button", he also had reflux and required a fundo (surgical procedure) to prevent aspiration. He also was an epileptic and required daily anti-convulsants medications and frequent blood draws to check the therapeutic levels of the said medications. Levi also was diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency, hyperthyroidism, diabetes insipidus, poor thermoregulation and Levi did not have a posterior pituitary gland! Levi was followed closely by 9 pediatric specialists in the Las Vegas valley; a neurosurgeon, pulmonologist, endocrinologist, neurologist, ophthalmologist, pediatric surgeon, cardiologist and a gastroenterologist. On June 16th, 2015, he came home for 3 months and did very well. However, Levi's body just wasn't able to repair itself quickly enough from colds and infections. Levi went to Heaven on October 24, 2015. We truely appreciate all the prayers, love, and support that have been shown to us during these difficult months. If you are able, we would appreciate any assistance you can offer to help us pay for Levi's burial and memorial service expenses. Even a small donation is greatly appreciated.
