Hi, we are just a few of Shelly's friends and we would like to try and raise some money to help Shelly get the wheelchair she desperately needs and to help with her upcoming home move. Shelly is one of the most vibrant and energetic people I have ever met. She is so generous, always looking out for others, and so so brave, though all the things that life has thrown at her she has always found a smile... and a fight! In 2013 Shelly won her battle against breast cancer whilst caring for her two young children of 1 and 3 as a single Mum, she received the all-clear and was able to enjoy her gorgeous children growing up. She has taken her family on a journey of fun and adventure, continually putting those lovely children first and ensuring they had everything they needed to grow into the wonderful young people they are today. On top of this Shelly also embarked upon a change of career and began her teaching degree. Unfortunately, last year Shelly's cancer returned; eating into the bones of her spine and rendering her unable to physically support herself without the risk of permanent paralysis. Shelly is now bedbound for the majority of her day and has to wear a brace from her ears to her waist in order to sit upright for a short period of time. She is only able to leave the house with the support of her wonderful friends and family; the access is not built for wheelchair users and the wheelchair she has is a standard hospital issue that further hinders any escape from the house! After enduring gruelling treatments and so many glimmers of hope Shelly has now been told the cancer is stage 4 and terminal. To be able to enjoy the time she has left with her children Shelly needs a more functional wheelchair to "get moving". The proceeds of this fundraiser will go towards paying for the chair. The chair will allow Shelly to be more mobile within the house, relying less on the hard work of her two children, and will mean she is able to get out of the house and regain some of the independence she has always been so fierce about keeping. If your generosity takes us above the target the additional money will go to helping Shelly and her children with the costs of moving house; unfortunately her landlord is having to sell the property which means a relocation for Shelly, Beau and Lotti. Thank you so much for your generosity, every pound will make a difference.
