Molly and Alex Silva are a wonderful couple and dear friends of ours. Molly and I have worked together for nearly six years and she is warm and kind, and is liked, respected, and valued highly by everyone who knows her. Several years ago, we met Alex Silva, and he and Molly were clearly a match and are very much in love. We watched as they planned their wedding, attended it (it was awesome), and were excited to hear that they wanted to start a family right away. However, as life often does, life threw them an unplanned curveball. The curve ball in this case is that Molly has endometriosis. Simply put, endometriosis is irregular tissue growth that is both painful and makes getting pregnant much more difficult. In Molly’s case, the endometriosis is so advanced that she only has a limited window to have her eggs harvested and have a procedure called In Vitro Fertilization (“IVF”) , otherwise her opportunity may have a child may pass by. The doctors are urging Molly and Alex to move quickly with this procedure, which also happens to be quite expensive. Stacy and I want to help Molly and Alex raise at least $25,000 which will cover the cost of the first round of procedures and give them a real chance of having a baby. Here is an idea of what one round of IVF will cost Molly & Alex out of pocket: Professional Services - $3,000 IVF Lab/Facility - $6,900 Frozen Embryo Transfer Cycle - $4,900 Medication - $5,500 Embryo Biopsy & PGS Testing - $4,400 Embryo Cryopreservation - $685 To help kickstart this fund raiser, Stacy and I will match dollar for dollar the first $5,000 in contributions. I’m asking you to consider helping a young couple who would be ideal parents get to experience having a baby of their own. Any amount helps and we are excited to be able to participate in helping put this fundraiser together on their behalf. Any and all funds raised in excess of what Molly and Alex need will be donated to the Legends are Born Everyday Foundation (https://www.legendsareborneveryday.org/) , which helps couples with endometriosis with expenses related to having a baby of their own.
