Six years ago, Jason was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his lymph nodes. Since then, Jason has endured four major surgeries, chemotherapy, and countless visits to the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. Jason’s last surgery, four years ago, lasted over 11 hours, resulting in one less kidney, two artificial arteries, and months of recovery time. Each surgery carries extreme risk because of the location of the tumors. Jason has continued to work, even while receiving chemotherapy, and has provided so well for his family throughout this entire journey. I am certainly humbled by the way the Mays have handled the trials they have gone through. Their unwavering faith is truly inspiring. It has been a rollercoaster, but they have not become bitter, they have been refined. Their confidence in God’s goodness has only grown and shined to those who have had the privilege of knowing them. You can truly see the reflection of God in their lives and in their children. In six weeks, Jason will be facing his fifth major surgery to remove two more tumors. My hope is that we, as friends and family, can help carry the financial burden that Jason and Rachel will face as they continue to fight this battle. Jason will be out of work for three months to recover from his next extensive surgery. With the loss of wages and travel expenses, I know any blessing would greatly help this family.
