Hello, my name is Jean McDermott. Thank you for taking the time to read this UPDATE on Anita's progress and where we are at with securing a ramp. My sister-in-law, Anita Rose, has been unable to work since 2010 due to kidney disease and the need for 5-hour dialysis sessions 3 days a week. She is also challenged with diabetes, vision loss, and knee, heart and breathing issues. Anita recently fell outside her home and broke her shoulder. Moving about with her walker is no longer possible and she is now using a wheelchair. Anita will be discharged from Ebenezer Transition Care Unit on Thursday, August 10 after 45 days in the hospital and TCU. Yeah!! Way to go, Anita!! You have been working hard!!! The four stairs into her mobile home are going to be a challenge and a safety concern! Donations will be used to install a portable aluminum handicap ramp outside Anita’s home and to modify the inside of her home to be wheelchair and handicap accessible. A 41-foot ramp is needed to accommodate the 41-inch height into the mobile home. The cost for the ramp and installation is $8,300. We can begin the installation with a $4,150 deposit and then three monthly payments of the balance. We are SO close to having enough for the initial payment. Help us reach our first goal of $4,150!! We will continue to raise funds to make the 3 follow-up monthly payments. Any funds received above $8,300 will be used to renovate the inside of Anita’s home to make it handicap accessible and safe. Any amount you are willing to donate is appreciated and will be put to good use. If you are unable to donate at this time, please keep Anita in your prayers and share this with your family, friends and community. Be the light to Anita, that Anita has been to so many of you. Blessings!
