Hannah and Russell Hannon were given the most devastating news on Wednesday 19th July. Their beautiful daughter Lexi was diagnosed with leukaemia. Lexi was 4 in May and was due to start school in September. She is such a brave strong girl. Lexi is already having chemo and is fighting it like the little trooper we know and love. And I have no doubt that she will get through this but in the mean time we want to help. Obviously with being in hospital a lot to receive treatment and endless tests, mummy and daddy have to take time off work, losing income when they could do without the extra worry. The extra cost of things like special vests to cover her tubes in her chest are things we just don’t think about. So raising some money to help is crucial. Hannah and Russell live in Hedge End with Lexi and her baby sister Remi. They adore being parents and are doing a fabulous job bringing up their two beautiful girls. Anything we can do to help is greatly appreciated by the family. I had the great pleasure of being Lexi’s childminder for 18 months. She is a little ray of sunshine always smiling and I am so glad we stayed in touch and I got to see Lexi grow into the wonderful, kind, loving girl she is. I know Lexi will beat this but in the mean time to take some stress away myself and my partner Gary would like to raise funds for the family to help. On the 30th August 2024 we will be walking to raise funds for Lexi and awareness of leukaemia! We have previously done 42km (a marathon) and I’m not going to lie I cried (a lot) so this is a real challenge. We will be walking from Lexi’s house to Southampton general hospital back and forth as Lexi is going to be doing this trip a lot. It’s 10km trip there and we are aiming for 60km which is three trips to the hospital and back. We will post a map of the route and welcome as much support as possibly along the way. Please give what you can to help this beautiful family and their incredibly brave little girl. Thank you Carly
