LFEBridge for LaTosha Dandridge and Paige Lacy- Sickle Cell Warriors My name is Tanya, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my beloved sister LaTosha and my precious 6 year old niece Paige. Paige has been battling sickle cell her entire life. The transplant team at St. Louis Children’s Hospital was recently able to find a 100% bone marrow donor match for Paige, which is a miracle, and the transplant was scheduled for early Spring of 2024. Unfortunately, Paige has had a difficult summer of crises resulting in a hospital stay in May for pneumonia and acute chest syndrome, and she is currently hospitalized for a pain crisis that turned into a collapsed lung. This episode has been traumatic for Paige, and our entire family. Due to the escalation of Paige’s sickle cell disease, Paige has requested that her bone marrow transplant be done as soon as possible, because the poor baby is tired of being sick and in pain. The transplant team has agreed to do the transplant within the next 3 months. My sister LaTosha is a single mom, and works full-time as a manager for a health insurance company. Due to Paige’s hospitalizations this year, LaTosha has already exhausted all of her paid time off from work, and is currently without income while Paige remains hospitalized. The bone marrow transplant will require Paige to be hospitalized for an additional 6 weeks, which will mean her mother will be off work without pay during that time as well. Caring for a sick child is stressful enough, without having to worry about how you’re going to pay your bills during this time. Please consider being a blessing to my sister and my niece Paige while Paige is fighting for her life. Every little bit helps. If you are unable to donate, please keep Paige and our family in your prayers.
