We are having our 28th annual Larry Mair Memorial Golf Tournament/Benefit. This year we have chosen Carolyn Kryzer as our beneficiary. Her story is below. She is a dietician at United Hospital District in Blue Earth. Carolyn, her husband Andy and their two little girls (3 and 1), live in Fairmont, Minnesota. Let's help Carolyn fight this!!! Any amount is helpful and appreciated. On 6/20/2024 I was diagnosed with stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer. I first noticed a “weird” lump on my left breast back in April; I was still breastfeeding my youngest daughter, Lainey, at the time so I didn’t think much of it. The lump seemed to get bigger as time went on so with encouragement from my coworkers, I got it looked at. After multiple imaging studies and biopsies, the cancer was found all within my left breast and 3 lymph nodes. Thankfully, a recent PET scan did not show cancer anywhere else so we are moving ahead with the following treatment plan: 18 weeks of chemotherapy (6 rounds, 1 round every 3 weeks), 6 week break, double mastectomy with lymph nodes removed, 6 week break, and 25 rounds of radiation (5x/week for 5 weeks). The treatment plan will take about 1 year. A lot has changed in the last couple weeks for our family. I never thought I would be 32 with a 3 year old (Addie) and a 1 year old (Lainey) and ready to take on cancer but that’s where we are! We are ready to kick this cancer to the curb!
