Anthony and I welcomed our baby boy, Kyro, into the world at just 26 weeks. I went into pre-term labor in May and was able to keep him growing for another week before needing an emergency C-section. Our beautiful micro-preemie weighed just 2 lbs and 4 oz and was 14 inches long when he was born. Kyro has now been in the NICU for 7 weeks and is growing bigger and stronger. However, he still has time to go before he will be able to come home to us. We have been lucky to have support from family and friends both near and far and are truly grateful. The NICU team has been amazing and our baby boy is in good hands. Anthony is continuing to work part-time and finish his Bachelor's degree at UNR (he plans to graduate in December). With the drastic change to our anticipated timeline, I have been off work for my recovery and will not be able to go back until our baby boy is home. While Anthony and I are doing our best to make ends meet, the cost of the care Kyro is receiving in the NICU is a daunting burden. If anyone would like to donate toward his medical expenses, we would greatly appreciate your gift. Thank you for helping Kyro!
