Dearest Friends and Family of Nokomi Rose Jones, After waking up one morning, Nokomi was feeling her neck, and felt bumps by her collar bone. Seth and Monique were very concerned. Dr. Diane Brill, of Southern Bands Indian Clinic, referred them to a childrens hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah because it's the closest hospital that specializes in kids with cancer. That Sunday, they were set up to meet with the oncologist for Monday morning. On Tuesday, the 13th of October they did a biopsy, and had found 19 nodules on Nokomi, and she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma Stage 2 on October 15, 2015. As most of you know, Seth and Monique have three children, and Nokomi is the oldest. She is only 11 years old. Seth and Monique would never ask for help, so I am asking for them. Nokomi is just beginning her long fight with her health, and the financial obligations are going to be huge. They will have to make a weekly trip from Elko, Nevada to Salt Lake City, Utah due to the fact that Elko is in the middle of nowhere. For at least the next 36 weeks, it is a 502 mile round-trip drive for her chemotherapy treatments with an overnight stay. I am hoping that we can all ease at least one burden so Nokomi can concentrate on getting better, and Seth and Monique can concentrate on the family as a whole. We will provide health updates on this site. Please try to limit phone calls, the family is extremely overwhelmed right now.
