Hi, my name is Kira Jessup. I am a 7th grader at Meridian Middle. I have been given the opportunity to go on an East Coast trip with my school. Due to not enough students signing up sadly the 2016 trip has been cancelled. :( However they are assuring us that there WILL be a 2017 and that more schools are participating so there shouldn't be an issue getting enough kids together. Therefore all donations are currently going into savings and when they have the sign up meeting this coming March we will pay for the trip in it's entirety thanks to everyones amazing help! I am bummed I won't be going this Spring but I am still really looking forward to this trip in 2017. I am very excited about the opportunity to experience all this trip has to offer. Both my Mom & my Auntie Jen took a trip similar to this one when they were my age and they've told me how much they enjoyed it. It's an incredible opportunity and I really like the idea that I get to travel with friends and very few grownups. ;) Don't worry there are chaperones going as well. I work hard at school and am a straight A student. I am hoping to become a Medical Examiner one day. I enjoy reading and art and am considering joining the track team in the Spring. I spend entirely too much time watching You Tube and writing fan fiction. Just so you know, I am normal teenager. ;) Thank you in advance for anything you can do to help. It is very appreciated. This trip wouldn't be possible for me without help from generous people like you. I will be posting pictures from my East Coast adventure as soon as I am home and onto my FB page periodically through the trip for those on my friends list. I have copied my itinerary so you can see all the great places we get to go. I am most excited to see the White House, even though we don't get to go inside and the Statue Of Liberty. We don't know yet which Broadway show we get to see but really anything will be amazing.Again thank you for your help.Kira Jessup PACKAGE INCLUDES:Round trip airfare from Boise, ID to the Washington, DC area (excluding baggage fees which are the responsibility of the individual traveler)Quad hotel accommodationsPrivate Nighttime SecurityPrivate ground transportation to all included sites and activitiesActivities per itineraryBreakfast, Lunch, & Dinner daily (starting with dinner on Day 1 and ending with lunch on Day 6)Professional tour director for the duration of the trip24-hour emergency supportAlthough the school district is supportive of educational trips, this is in no way a school sponsored or endorsed trip.Day 1: ArrivalOrientation to National Mall, Washington Monument; Iwo Jima Memorial;Ford’s Theatre and Petersen House, Souvenir Shop; Pentagon 9/11 MemorialEvening: Check into DC Hotel Day 2: Focus on “Freedom is not Free”Morning: Arlington Cemetery – Changing of the Guard, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (with Wreath Laying), Space Shuttle Challenger Memorial, Robert E.
