Hi my name is Christine. I am a 68 year olf retired grandmother (nana) who sadly lost my beautiful grandaughter Kim Mary Walker to suicide on the 22nd of October 2024. Kim was brought up in Cumbernauld and had many friends. She loved animals - dogs, cats, rabbits, guineapigs, horses and water dragons... Thankfully not at the same time. She also loved all things disney with "Jungle Book" being her favourite. Kim was a qualified substance misuse worker, whos compassionate nature coupled with a bubbly and social personality, touched the hearts of those around her. I am devasted by her loss but have decided to take this opportunity to help raise awareness around the issue of suicide. On the 26th of August - Kims 25th Birthday, I will walk 20 miles in her memory to raise funds for a local charity close to my own heart- Tony's Safe Place. Their mission is to be there for people who are struggling with poor mental health, suicidal thoughts, addiction and bereavement. Your donation will go straight to this volunteer-run organisation and will help them to continue to support people in the local community. Thank you, Christine Finlay - in loving memory of my Kim ❤️
