Hi there! My name is Carol Colson and I’m a mom of 3 amazing daughters, but this story isn’t about me or my kids. It’s about my amazing husband Wes Colson. You see, Wes has a best friend who happens to be his brother in law and best man at our wedding, named Bruce. Wes has known Bruce since he was four years old. Bruce married Wes’s oldest sister Candi. A few years ago, Bruce’s kidneys began to fail. 6 months ago, they both had completely failed and Bruce became active on the transplant list needing a kidney. Without hesitation, Wes sent off his blood to be tested to see if he would be a match and to the glory of God, HE IS! Through many weeks of testing, Wes finally got approved to be Bruce’s kidney donor!! Now here’s where the fundraiser part comes in. There are already many appointments in Topeka and Kansas City we’ve already attended and there will be many more follow up appointments after the surgery. Wes also has to be off work for 8 weeks after the surgery. I also have to be off work for a few weeks with him while he recovers to help and take care of him. We are asking if you could spare a few dollars to help us during his recovery period so we can continue to pay our bills, get to and from all the follow up appointments and take care of our family we would be so grateful.
