Hi I'm Rachel and I am helping fundraise for my sister Keri. In July 2024, she was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia/small lymphocytic lymphoma. Update as of January 2024: Keri had a stroke in December. She’s doing okay - just moving slow. She starts a third type of cancer treatment as soon as insurance approves it. . Thank you for your support! Here's some information from Keri: CLL/SLL is a type of cancer that affects the lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell. Leukocytosis refers to an elevated white blood cell count, which is a common characteristic of CLL/SLL. My white blood cell count was the highest some of the staff had seen. This condition can impact the immune system's ability to function properly, making individuals more susceptible to infections and other health issues. I fully trust God is in control. Please pray for wisdom for my doctors, peace and guidance for me and my family as we navigate this journey, and for the finances which will take a toll. Thankfully I do have insurance but cancer is a physical, mental, emotional and financial drain. Psalm 77: And I said, “This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High.” I will remember the works of the Lord; Surely I will remember Your wonders of old. I will also meditate on all Your work, And talk of Your deeds. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary, Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders; (Photo above is of me with my dad and sister in October 2024.)
