"In Kenya, most of those claiming to be pastors have no theological studies and have been misleading congregants. ... Even within our locality, there are several false prophets. Due to this, good training and understanding of the Bible are very vital." -Peter Kioko Kasiki Paul & Heather Merrill have known Peter for more than 30 years. He is a solid Christian who feels the Lord leading him to get theological training to become a pastor in his area of Kenya - Masii near Machakos. He plans to begin in September 2024. This training will last two years, after which he will be equipped to help lead the church and make more of an impact in his community. The college is Scott Christian University, which is part of the Africa Inland Church and was started in 1962. The cost includes tuition and room and board. More from Peter: During and after my training, A.I.C Malaani (our church) will benefit in the following ways: It will be enriched with good spiritual nourishment. There will be added synergy with the current Pastor. There will be better Church leadership and management based on Christian faith as I will constantly, with others, train the Church leaders. There will be better management of the church resources. There will be more resources mobilized into Church projects. I will better network with other partners, well-wishers etc. I & others will visit local community members to evangelize and encourage them to accept Christ as their Lord and Saviour. I will enhance the youth activities including counselling and mentoring them. I will also initiate life skills training among the youth. I will be in a better position to counsel and assist the orphans, widows, & vulnerable spiritually, and with practical simple socio-economic activities. Peter has provided further information, which Paul and Heather can provide upon request. Peter is already heavily involved in ministry at his church through preaching twice a month and leading the choir.
