Hi I am Becky Hensley. I am working with Keith’s mom Doris to help with some financial aid. Below I am sharing Keith’s story written by him. Please help Keith and his parents where you can. Keith’s Story… As most of you know I was diagnosed in January with cancer. On January 25th surgeons at Martha Jefferson removed a tumor the size of two peaches from within my skull. On February 17th I was rushed in to emergency surgery due to a very serious infection that had began working its way out of the incision from the first surgery. This also meant the protective covering inserted into my skull to replace the portion the cancer had already eaten through had to be removed as well. Leaving me with no skull or protective covering on the left side of my head. Once released to come home I had to complete a antibiotic treatment regimen for the next 5 1/2weeks, followed by 18 treatments of radiation. I followed up with a PET scan as directed by my treatment team to confirm the surgery and treatments had been effective in removing the tumor and any trace of the cancer from with in my brain. Praise the Lord, it had… BUT unfortunately there was a “part 2” to the results. Part 2 revealed that the back pain I’d been experiencing for the last week or so was due to the cancer having already mutated and spread to my spine and the L1 and L2 vertebrae at the base of my spine thus rendering a new diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma. A very aggressive, inoperable bone/bone marrow cancer. I’m currently undergoing a multitude of tests to determine the most effective treatment plan that will render longevity and quality of life for me. I’m asking, if you’re reading this to PLEASE lift me, my parents and my treatment team in your prayers. If you’d like to help my parents with the financial burdens they’ve had to face throughout all of this, and the many yet to come, please do. Thanks in advance and may God bless you!
