Hi! First and foremost, thank you for all of the support we’ve received over the last two weeks as my dad, Keith, has been in the hospital. Some of you may know that he has abdominal aortic aneurysms, but recently he has developed several other health issues and was hospitalized during a very emergent situation. Thankfully, the care he received saved his life, but he isn’t able to return to life as normal. As his POA, I’ve been working endlessly to complete all of the necessary paperwork to secure his job, file a STD/LTD claim, and have unfortunately discovered that his health insurance is a limited benefit plan. This means little to no coverage and if you’ve ever faced hospitalization, you can imagine the bills he’s received for being inpatient for 10 days. Additionally, he has several medical procedures scheduled, physical therapy, medications, etc. ahead that I’m *hoping* will be covered under a new healthcare plan. My dad only knows how to work hard; taking this time to rest and heal is truly a challenge for him, but it is crucial for his health. He’s donated more money than he’d like to admit to fundraisers and people in need, and I’m optimistically asking for a little financial assistance for him now.
