i am Melissa Flournoy and I am an adjunct professor at LSU. One of my students contacted me for help because she is gay and was put out of her house by her parents- she is Pakistani and her parents are religious Muslims who did not approve of her- she received emergency assistance for housing from LSU to avoid being homeless, but has to pay for her housing from the spring in order to register for school. the update from LSU Rahima was recently disowned by her family due to her sexual orientation. Her father pays for all her tuition, allowed her to live with him, and any other expense she has. Since her family has disowned her, she is facing homelessness, not able to pay for school, and unable to pay for any other expense. This International Student Support Fund will allow her to find housing in the immediate and potentially pay for a few expenses. Case Manager Student Advocacy & Accountability
