Family & Friends Early on July 29th our mother Chalice passed away at the age of 49. She had been battling cancer since March and spent the last month of her life in Penn Hospital's Hospice care. We chose to keep the status of her health private since we were all hoping she'd get better, and simply because she wished to not disclose her condition to anyone besides family. Thank you for all the prayers and well wishes for our family- it is much appreciated. The only thing our mother left us was our home. Her wish is for us to keep it. Our brother Khalil is going to return home and split the mortgage with Khayir. Him being here is the only way we'll be able to supplement the income it took to maintain the house. Autumn and Zuri are college students and Khayir's wife Valerie is a full time mom to our nephews Rocket and Zafir. We'd like to be able to live here together and keep the house but currently there isn't enough space for all of us to be here. Before being diagnosed Dukes wanted to get our basement finished to accommodate us all, and with her passing the project becomes a pressing issue. It's a huge unfinished basement that will accommodate everyone and allow for the older brothers to continue to provide for our family. Thanks for anything you can give we appreciate it.
