Hi! My name is Logan. I’m fundraising for my wonderful wife of seven years, Kayla. Kayla has been diagnosed with Stage Four Endometriosis, and it has dramatically impacted almost every aspect of her life. She received her official diagnosis in 2024, after her first major surgical intervention. We had been trying to start a family for over a year, and Kayla’s pain and cramping during periods had been increasing dramatically with each passing month. Unfortunately, that was only the beginning of her symptoms. Since receiving her diagnosis, Kayla has had to endure multiple significant surgeries, several extended ER visits, two ambulance rides, three hospitalizations, and continues to endure crippling daily pain. Her endometriosis has been resistant to treatments that help many other women, and we have heard too many doctors speak variations of the phrase “but that should have worked…” Kayla takes on her daily struggle to cope with chronic pain by leveraging her razor-sharp wit and a sense of integrity that drives her to continue to do her best. But the reality is that her disease is getting worse, and she will need another significant surgery in the very immediate future. Because of her recurring hospitalizations, surgeries, and treatments, Kayla has been forced to miss many weeks of work. She is also unable to work on days where her pain is particularly unmanageable, even with medication. Because of this, we have incurred a significant amount of medical debt, as well as “regular debt” due to needing to pay for living expenses despite missing paychecks. We are hopeful that this fundraiser will enable us to pay off some of the debt, as well as generate funds to put toward her upcoming surgery, avoid additional medical debt, and create a safety net for when she is unable to work while recovering from her next surgery. Should we be blessed to receive more funding than is needed to cover our medical expenses and help lift us out of the debt incurred due to Kayla’s endometriosis, those funds would be put into savings to help us with our long-term plan to grow our family, whether through fertility treatments or adoption. Our first step toward that goal is getting Kayla healthy. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for reading Kayla’s story. If you decide to donate, we cannot express enough how grateful we would be. Thank you!
