Hello, My name is Kal Larson, I really appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. I am writing for the three of us, myself, my wife and our nine-year-old granddaughter we are now raising in our home. I am 68. I am a veteran. I served in the Marines. I worked as a machinist for most of my adult life. I’ve worked hard all my life. I am unable to hold a regular job now because I have severe back pain from spinal nerve problems that need surgery. I have also been having mini-strokes which put me at risk for a stroke. I’m now being told I can’t have the back injections or surgery until a neurologist evaluates me because of the stroke risk. This is all putting us in a financial crisis. My wife has Multiple Sclerosis, fibromyalgia, Lymphedema and high blood pressure. We have always worked hard, have raised three kids, and we live simply. We have done what debt reduction we can. We thought we might be able to move to a place with lower costs but we just can’t move our granddaughter right now because she has been through a lot of loss lately and we can’t do that to her. It is hard to ask for help but my health situation has gotten worse and we are providing for our granddaughter now and we are in the weeds. We have social security, but even though it’s not enough to make ends meet, it puts us above the line to be eligible for assistance programs. We stand to lose our truck and our life insurance policies. These days we struggle to put food on the table. We didn’t know about LFEBridge until just recently. This is all new to us. Thank you for reading this and thinking of us. Any donations would be used to meet these expenses in the coming months and help our family get through this. We are not on social media and don’t have a lot of connections to people who can lend a hand. If you have a way to share this, that would be great. Any help is greatly appreciated.
