Hello family and friends. As many may have heard Josh was admitted to the hospital on July 17th due to unexpected swelling and redness of the knee. Doctors initially suspected some case of sepsis but within 24 hours the infection continued to progress rapidly. On July 18th, Josh under went surgery to clean out as much of the infection as possible. Lab results from a biopsy during surgery then confirmed to the doctors that the infection was in fact not sepsis but, Streptococcus Pyogenes. Streptococcus pyogenes is a major human-specific bacterial pathogen that causes a wide array of manifestations ranging from mild localized infections to life-threatening invasive infections. Due to the severity of the infection Josh has been at the hospital for observation with constant medications to hopefully resolve the infection. Today, July 23rd, doctors are finally allowing for Josh to be discharged. As many people know, Josh works full time as a bartender at Locals located in Fernandina Beach Florida. The matter of the fact is bartending requires one to be on their feet moving all day. After having emergency knee surgery Josh will not be able to go back to work until the healing process has completed. Along with not being able to work for the time being, as a bartender Josh does not have medical insurance. We are looking for any and all help to support Josh in covering his emergency medical bills. Thank You to Everyone for the love and support during this time!
