Hello All! It’s very difficult for me to do this, since I have always felt a bit of independence. But, with rising costs of pre and post-transplant, I have been advised to start a LFEBridge page. After speaking to several Social Workers in the transplant field, they feel this would be one of the best ways to help me raise money, to go towards, not only my medical, but daily cost of living bills as well, pre and post-transplant. I will not be allowed to go back to work until 2-3 months after transplant, and that’s only if I am cleared by the doctors. With this, I will have no steady Income coming in. I will be required to visit Scott and White in Temple or Baylor Hospital in Ft. Worth 2-3 times per week for 2-3 months, depending on how well my body reacts to the new kidney. Because of this, they have recommended I stay in a hotel during this period. I will be required to pay for Gas and Lodging. Along with these costs, I will be required to take between 3-7 anti-rejection medicines. My immune system will not be up-to-par, therefore, will lead to greater risk of infection. The main anti-rejection pill runs $3500 a month, and I will have to take it in the range of 2-3 months. After this, I will be required tt take an additional 3-8 medicines for the rest of my life! These range from $11-$1600 per month!!! Any donation you could provide would be greatly appreciated. I am not one to ask for a handout, so this is very difficult for me to do. I know with your continued help, encouragement and prayer, I will get the kidney I have so desperately been waiting on for over 4.5 years.
