First of all we want to say thank you for taking the time to read our story.  It has been such a long journey but we hope this is finally the end of the struggle and the beginning of a new life in more ways than one.Joey and I met in March of 2007 and quickly fell in love. We were married just six short months later in September of 2007.  Since neither of us were spring chickens (especially Joey ;-) ) we knew we wanted to start a family as soon as possible.  After two years of trying on our own and no pregnancy, we knew we had to seek professional help.  So, in 2009 we saw our very first fertility specialist in Houston.  After extensive tests we were told IUI (Intrauterine insemination) would be a good choice for us since it was less invasive and much less expensive when compared to IVF. Each round of IUI costs about $3,000 with all the testing and medications used, along with the procedure itself, none of which is covered by our insurance since it is considered an infertility treatment.  We went through this process twice in 2009, both ended in failures. We were heart broken.  We decided to take a break from the emotional roller coaster, all while still trying on our own.   In 2012 we moved from Houston to Midland for a new career oppurtunity.  In our time here in Midland we have made new friends and caught up with old ones.  But there is always something missing.  That missing part is a child of our own.  We want a family more than we could ever express in words.  Coming home to child running up to you and saying "Mommy!!" or "Daddy!!" is a feeling we both long for so deeply.  This year we decided to give it one last shot.  We underwent testing again, and did two more rounds of IUI.  Both rounds failed.  Our only option now is IVF (in vitro fertilization). For those unfamiliar with IVF, it is a process where I am on injectible medications for 10-12 days, then the doctor retrieves mature eggs from my ovaries surgically and they are then fertilzed in a dish and then transferred directly back into me.  This procedure is more successful than IUI, but it also much more expensive.  The estimated cost for one round of IVF is between $15,000 and $25,000.  We want to again say thank you so much for reading our story. Any contribution made will be more appreciated than you could ever imagine.  We, of course, promise to keep everyone updated on our progress.  We are set to start the process in November.  Thank you so much again for any help and/or prayers you can send our way.  God bless you!! Joey & Brittany Boyd.
