‌Police violence is out of control, not only in the cities but in the country also. In Grayling, MI, October 7th 2015, around 9pm, Joesph Robert Earl, 31 year-old father-to-be, was leaving a side door of a residence three blocks from his own when he was shot by a MI state trooper. The entry wound, one-inch from his heart ,entered his lung before ricocheting towards his kidney and his liver and exiting out his back. Joesph was unarmed, as always,  had no warrants and was not charged with any crime.Listening to Joe explain what happened is hard on the heart. With a crackling voice, he struggles to tell me how he was outside for less than two seconds before the officer that was designated to protect and serve fired a near lethal blow. "I was on the ground crying and just saying, 'what did I do?' 'I don't know what I did'.  He was immediately taken to Munson Medical Center  via helicopter where he was put in the intensive care unit and remained as an inpatient for close to two weeks.Sadly, that was just the beginning of this horrible tale. Now out of the hospital, Joe struggles with pain as he busses around town to make his doctors appointments and tries to make as much money as he can for his expecting girlfriend who also doesn't have reliable transportation. He weighs less than 100 pounds after barely being able to eat because of intense pain and lack of funds.Joe is still discussing legal remedies, but any compensation will be months if not years in the making, and the winter as well as Joe's first child are quickly approaching. Before the shooting, Joe had always been a modest and humble man. When not working a variety of low wage jobs, he volunteered  much of his time helping recovering addicts through narcotics and alcoholic anonymous as a counselor in Traverse City, the Detroit metro area and in his current city of Grayling where he helps his mother who also doesn't have a car. He was recently hired at the Grayling Kmart, but because of his condition, will not be able to perform necessary duties. He hasn't had a car and has relied on public transportation for years although he has an active license in good standing. This go fund me is to help Joe with reliable transportation for him in his time of need. The vehicle will also help his expecting girlfriend as they have a child on the way. Joe has so far lost 4 months of workHelp support this young man and his family in their struggle. Thank you. http://upnorthlive.com/news/local/police-investigate-trooper-involved-shooting-in-grayling ‌
