Hi, my name is Raymond Chiu and I would like to fundraise on behalf of my mother for her peritoneal post-surgery and medical care. After my mother, Joannie Zhao, began to swell up from the excess fluids of her dialysis machine, we immediately took her to the hospital. We shortly found out that her intestines were inflamed from previous infections and had to undergo multiple surgeries to untangle this inflamed intestine from her catheter, but to no avail. She had further additional surgeries to add another catheter to solve the clogging of liquids from her stomach and has been unable to dialyze for more than a week now. As my mother can no longer do peritoneal dialysis due to her tangled intestines, she will now be forced to transition to hemodialysis and will need to do another surgery to add a fistula for this type of treatment. With her life in danger due to the lack of dialysis for over a week now, I am reaching out to ask for a donation of any kind. Your donation will go towards this mandatory fistula surgery, her dialysis treatments, a temporary caretaker for her, and some other unpaid bills due to her medical leave and absence from work from both of us. Since we are struggling financially right now, any amount of help would mean so, so much to us. It would also help ensure a seamless transition to a new treatment and life for my mother which we will always be grateful for. Thank you very much!
