Supporting a Courageous Single Mom Battling Breast Cancer Dear friends, family, and compassionate souls, We come to you today with a heartfelt plea on behalf of a remarkable woman, Joanna Bruce, who has been dealt a profound challenge. Just a few weeks ago, on June 28th, Joey received the shocking news that she is facing Stage 3 breast cancer. She was thrown another blow during surgery on July 14th when the doctors discovered extra-nodal extension (ie. tumor cells that have perforated the lymph node capsule into the surrounding tissue). As if the news wasn’t already devastating enough, Joey is also a single mother to two beautiful daughters, aged 10 and 12. Her world has been turned upside down in an instant, and she is now about to embark on a grueling journey of chemotherapy and radiation. Joanna is a warrior, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and above all, a dedicated and loving mother. She has always been there for her daughters, ensuring their well-being and happiness. Now, she needs our collective strength and support more than ever as she sets out on this physically and emotionally demanding path. The medical expenses are mounting, and the financial strain is further compounded by the fact that her income as a school secretary is limited, with only 26 weeks of medical Employment Insurance (EI) ahead, covering just 55% of her already modest earnings. This is where we, as a caring community, have the power to make a meaningful impact. By contributing to Joey’s LFEBridge campaign, you can help alleviate the financial burden she faces. Your donation will not only support her during this challenging time but will also ensure that her daughters receive the care and stability they need while their mother fights this battle. Every dollar you give will go towards medical bills, childcare, transportation to and from treatment, and other unforeseen expenses that have arisen due to this unexpected journey. Let’s rally together to show Joey that she is not alone in this fight. Your kindness and generosity will make a world of difference and provide a glimmer of hope during her darkest moments. We understand that times are tough, but even the smallest donation can create a ripple of positive change. Let’s surround Joey and her daughters with love, support, and encouragement as they navigate this challenging road ahead. Thank you for opening your hearts and making a difference. With gratitude, Beverly Brydon
