Jhett was diagnosed with Pulmonary Vein Stenosis (PVS) June 6th 2024. PVS is a rare cardiovascular disorder that involves stenosis (narrowing) in at least one of the pulmonary veins. The pulmonary veins are responsible for returning blood from the lungs to the heart. Right now a very small percentage of Jhett’s left lung is actually working and he is fighting hard to keep it!!! A lot of management and care is involved with PVS. The past 3 years Jhett has been traveling to Boston every 4- 12 weeks. In that time he has endured 16 heart caths, 3 open heart surgeries, chemo treatments as well as several blood transfusions. This sadly will be Jhett’s life forever and for right now his fight needs to continue with Boston Children’s Hospital. The hope is to eventually get him to a point that his disease can be managed closer to home (Omaha). Amber and John are truly blessed and very fortunate to have the community’s help these past 3 years. Without it, the best care available for Jhett would not have been possible. The financial struggle continues to be an obstacle for them and our family is asking for help to ensure Jhett can continue receiving the lifesaving treatment he needs. All donations made will go towards traveling expenses which include lodging, airfare, transportation while there, and meals. Their next trip is in 11 Weeks!!
