I want to reshare this with the updates of what Jessey has gone truly gone through this past week while in the hospital in hopes that we can spread the word and faith far and wide. Please bear with me as this is a lot to share. Most know April 1, 2024 Jessey had a heart attack while we were on a trip in Orlando. There he had a sever heart attack and they placed 6 stents in his heart. Sunday night around 11pm we went to baptist beaches hospital because he was having some chest pain and start sweating and then get the chills. They moved us to a room around 1:15 am and these episodes continued about every 45 minutes. They decided to transfer him to baptist downtown about 6:30am Monday morning. They put him on a nebulizer to help with some fluid in his lungs he developed. They did a scope of his heart to and found a clot above one of the previous stents. The plan was do a quadruple bypass the following Monday however around 3 and 5 am Tuesday morning he had some cardiac episodes where his stats would skyrocket and he'd sweat with chest pain. Around 7:15 that morning his heart stopped. He didn’t have a heart attack his heart just stopped. They did cpr for about 20 minutes trying to stabilize him. They ended up straddling him on the gurney and performing cpr as they rolled him in to the OR. They did cpr for another hour and a half until they were able to shock his heart back into rhythm. They put him on a ventilator and put a device in through his thigh called an impeller to help open and pump blood as they placed his 7th stent in. They are no longer going to do a quadruple bypass right now. They're worried about pneumonia because he has fluid in his lungs and was in kidney failure. After they finished putting the stent in he would wake up and try to rip out all the tubing and wires so they gave him a med that basically paralyzed him. They were worried about his cognitive function since he was clinically dead for that long but Wednesday was a great visit. Even with the heavy pain meds and sedation his mind was very alert, I jokingly asked him if he wanted me to play some Jimmy Buffett music, and he smiled under the ventilator and gave me a thumbs up. I had it on low, and he even tapped me and asking to make it louder. I was holding his hand, and he started thumbing me and I was like are you trying to play thumb wars? He nodded so he played some but obviously I let him win. Lol. Thursday was a little rougher. There was a lot of phlegm he was coughing up from his lungs. He’s also in a lot pain, so they are keeping him sedated. He has 4 broken ribs from doing CPR for 2 hours. His numbers continue to improve. Less medications to keep his blood pressure and other things stable. He’s still on the ventilator and still has the pump on his heart. He’s still considered in kidney failure, although they are not going to do dialysis they are going to give him more medicine first to help his kidneys. This morning (Friday July 7, 2024) They took him down to remove the impeller. His Doctor was looking at his heart on the sonogram this morning and said you’d never know he had a heart attack. If he does well without the impeller today, they’re going to try and take him off the ventilator later today. He has a long road ahead between unknown recovery time in the CCU, rehab, and general healing. ANYTHING HELPS. Please just share the word or if you could even spare $5, it’ll be a blessing. His mom told me something that hit. She said fear and faith are the same thing. They both come from a belief in a future that hasn't happened yet, but fear placed a negative future in your heart where as faith you believe in the positive future. So you have to faith not fear. God definitely placed us and Jessey in each others life for a reason, so let’s help any way we can. we are in the midst of making some stickers to help raise some money, I’ll add that info here when we get it in the works. until then…. #faithnotfear4Jessey #faithnotfearJC
