I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in June 2004. Many people with MS will experience difficulty with walking, which is also called ambulation. The term “gait” refers more specifically to the manner or pattern of walking (for example “unsteady gait”). Studies suggest that half the people with relapsing-remitting MS will need some assistance with walking within 15 years of their diagnosis, mine has currently peaked at 11 years. After much thought, denial and hesitation (& swallowing of pride lol), the need for an electric wheelchair for daily travels outside of the home is now necessary. Funds will be utilized towards the purchase of a Smartchair electric wheelchair, battery packs and travel case. If you're able to help, every little bit helps. Thanks for listening & wish me luck! This could potentially mean some newfound freedom. jR
