Hi, my name is Emily my Dad, Michael has been diagnosed with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) this is an extremely rare terminal disease that has no treatment, or cure. The average person lives only 6-8 months after the diagnosis. We took my father to Cleveland Clinic Main Campus in early July thinking he was having a stroke. He has been unstable, and has had severe trouble sleeping since April. We have been to multiple doctors appointments to try and find the reason behind these mild symptoms. Never in a million years did we prepare for this. The Doctors have run over 100 tests to try and find something else it could be. MRI, CT, spinal tap, EEG, blood work, 14-3-3 CJD protein prion test. The tests always comes back the same, stating CJD. We have spent the last 7 days in the hospital. My dad is now home. We have been in contact with hospice care, and the VA for help going forward. I’m making this go fund me for my Mom, Rochelle. I want to try and take some stress off of her financially. This money will help cover unexpected medical bills & funeral costs. We know you all have prayed, and kept our family in your thoughts. We love you all unconditionally for that! Please keep praying for our strength.
