This fund is created by Jeff Chester's immediate family. The contributions will be used to aid in the travel arrangements of Jeff Chester's immediate family, memorial services, and funeral expenses. All funds raised will be used immediately to help ease the burden upon the family and give a loving and respectful service to the amazing man we all loved and will dearly miss.Your assistance and prayers will be greatly appreciated and cherished by the friends and family of Jeff Chester.Jeffrey P. Chester, age 65, of Peru, passed away at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27th. He was born December 5, 1949 in Peru to Paul E. and Frances M. Chester.Jeff was a lifelong mechanic. Starting out in his own C&C Garage, he eventually moved onto dealerships in Peru and Logansport. Even after retirement, he could be found underneath a friend’s car trying to save them a headache. In his free time he had a knack for repairs and would constantly be working on projects at the house, church or out in the garage. When he was not helping others, he would enjoy hunting and being outdoors. Jeff enjoyed being on the lake boating or spending time in the yard with family and friends.A quiet man, Jeff was not known as much for his words, but instead, his actions. He would do anything for anyone who needed a hand. He loved spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather; as well as being a loving brother, uncle, and friend to many in the community. He was a devoted Christian and member of the First Baptist Church.He is survived by five children: Paula McGinnis, Stephanie Hatton, Stacey (Jason) Henry, Sean (Megan) Chester, and Chris Chester. He also survived his father Paul E. Chester of Chili, IN and his five siblings: Michael (Sandy) Chester, Karen (Butch) Chumbley, Kenn (Katrina) Chester, Jim Chester, and Frank Chester. In addition, Jeff is also leaving behind eight grandchildren, and many neices, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.Jeff was preceded in death by his mother Frances M. Chester and his beautiful wife of over 27 years, Sally A. Chester.Visitaion will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday October 31st at the Peru First Baptist Church, 53 East Main St., Peru IN. A memorial will be held directly follwing the vistation.Arrangements have been entrusted to Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, IN 46970.
