My name is Tracy and I am the neighbor to some wonderful humans, Jayne and Chloie. Chloie came to live with her father and grandma (Jayne) three years ago when her dad was able to rescue her out of some pretty terrible living conditions. Chloie had a hard start in life. She was born to an alcohol-dependent mom and as a result came into the world four months premature with cerebral palsy and fetal alcohol syndrome. She proved early on to be quite the little fighter and spent months in the hospital with her daddy by her side every step of the way. But unfortunately, her struggles didn’t end there. Chloie was sent home with her alcohol-dependent mom who unfortunately continued to drink and could not care for her. Her dad had to go back to work and would often come home to find Chloie unbathed, hungry, and neglected. When Chloie was three, her dad had had enough. He took Chloie out of the home and moved in with his mom, Chloie’s grandma Jayne. Unfortunately, after less than a year, Chloie’s mom demanded she be returned and under much duress, Chloie went back to live with her. Chloie endured another seven long years of suffering before a catastrophic situation with her mother prompted her dad to file for divorce and receive full custody of Chloie, both returning to live with Chloie’s grandma Jayne. Since then, Chloie has been thriving. She has gained healthy weight, got fitted for a leg brace, and has upcoming much needed medical care, all coordinated and facilitated by her grandmother. Chloe is bright and funny and an absolute joy to be around! She even received a Thrive, student of the year award, her teacher stating that, “The world needs more Chloie’s.” But Chloie’s story doesn’t end there, and she and her grandmother now face a very uncertain future as Chloie’s dad has unfortunately needed to enter into a rehab facility. They are facing financial difficulties as a result and are struggling to pay the rent on the house that they have made into a home for Chloie. We are asking for any of you who may be willing and able to contribute to this go fund me to cover the rent and other bills in the coming months while Chloie’s dad is receiving treatment so he can recover and continue to provide for his family. This would be a true act of loving your neighbor and any little bit will help. Thank you so much for reading this far and God bless you.
