Hi, my name is Cheryl Baker and I truly appreciate you taking the time to read my family's dilemma. So, a lot of you know my daughter Brigette Moody and my son-in-law Jake Moody. Brigette and Jake are about to go through one of the scariest events they've ever faced. Jake was recently diagnosed with a torn mitral valve chordae. They just recently found out that this has been ongoing for several years, most likely due to a hereditary weakness in his heart muscles. It will require heart surgery. They will be able to perform it robotically which will help shorten Jake's recovery time. Without this surgery, the outcome would be pretty bleak. To say they are very anxious to be facing this is an understatement. Add to that the fact that Brigette just started her new dream job and hasn't yet built up any time off and Jake is a small business owner, Moody Construction. I'm setting up this Go Fund Me because everyone who knows Jake and Brigette know of their own selflessness and huge hearts and know they would never ask for help themselves. There are so many of their friends that have already asked what they could do to help and they are going to need any help that you could give them. Jake will be in the hospital for a minimum of 3 days and Brigette will NOT leave his side. His healing time required will keep him from working his business. The stress of the upcoming surgery is more than enough without adding to it the anxiety of worrying about making it through the aftermath. Any help you could give will be used to help with them with the incredible hospital bills, Brigette's time off from work and Jake's recovery time away from his own business.
