Hello. I am asking for help for my best friend and her son. She doesn’t know I’m doing this. At the beginning of June, Shawna’s 20 year old son, Jaeven was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. He had had three strokes at that time. After numerous surgeries on the brain, heart and lungs and multiple tests performed, he was later diagnosed with a rare autoimmune disease abbreviated CAPS. Shawna described it like this… Jaeven is in Cleveland Clinic. He was diagnosed with Catastrophic Antiphospholipid Syndrome. It’s an autoimmune disease where your body attacks your immune system causing blood clots; this caused him to have strokes, his mitral valve was clotted. He had surgery on Tuesday to have that replaced. My boy is so strong and has remained so positive. Yesterday he was having trouble breathing so they put him back in the ICU, they have him “resting” until they know his lungs are strong enough to work on their own. That could be today or tomorrow. We have been praying so hard for him to make a full recovery and I know God has his back. He has already answered so many. We do not need anything besides prayers, that is all we are asking for. This was at the begging of July. Jaeven is still fighting in the hospital and they are hoping after his final transfusion he can move to a rehab center where he can recover. I am asking for help to relieve some of the financial burden this is putting on their family during this already very stressful and difficult time. The medical expenses from being in the hospital for nearly two months, the rehabilitation he will need, the financial burden Shawna has had staying in hotels and gas, etc. It all is so much. And lastly, like she said, prayers! They have been so strong and they still have a long road to go. I thank you so much. I know any amount would be so much appreciated!
