We are a team of Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapists. We will be conducting a 5-day intensive therapy clinic in San Fernando, Trinidad for children with a variety of medical diagnoses. We hope to serve 60 children and families. With your assistance, we will bring equipment, resources, supplies, and expertise in our areas to share with families who have a child with different abilities and unique challenges. How did this project come to be? RubyJean was born in Trinidad with a diagnosis of Down Syndrome. Due to a lack of medical care, her foster parents made the difficult decision to give her up for adoption. RubyJean was adopted by a family in Central Texas and began receiving Early Childhood Intervention Services. As the families stayed in touch, the foster family was amazed by the support she was receiving and the progress she was making. They wanted to give other children in Trinidad the same opportunities and organized an intensive therapy clinic for families on the island.
