Hello! My name is Ruth Loza, and I have a great desire to pursue religious life as a Sister of Mary Morning Star (Maria Stella Matutina). As this desire brings me so much joy, there is still the very practical need of paying off all my debt, which I have accumulated through education and transportation. This contemplative community allows women to spend six months to a year with them to live their life and seek the truth ever more profoundly through prayer, work, and studies. Through the guidance of the Sisters, I saved enough money to pay for my monthly expenses for a year as I moved into the convent to properly discern this community. Throughout this year I have grown in deeper admiration and gratitude for the way of life of the Sisters and have entered the novitiate. Now I am hoping to continue with the community and receive the religious habit. Any amount you’re willing to donate to help me pursue religious life with these Sisters would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate at this moment, please consider sharing this with a family member or a friend. Most importantly, please pray for me and all my Sisters. Know that you will be in my prayers. I also wanted to affirm that whatever is donated above what is needed for my loans will be given to the Sisters in Ghent. To introduce myself a bit more, I’m from the Diocese of Boise, Idaho. Over a year ago I was simultaneously working as the technology support technician at Bishop Kelly High School in Boise, studying online to get my bachelors in graphic design and media arts with a concentration on web design, and running a very small web design business. After experiencing an increasing desire to discover my own little path to the Father. I decided to quit my job, cancel my studies, and close my small business to devote a year to this desire with the Sisters of Mary Morning Star in Ghent Minnesota. Many people speak about their path towards God and I have come to discover more and more the richness that He has for each one of us. Every path will look overall similar in the way that we are all seeking Him, we all desire to know Him. But...just as I am incredibly different from my friend next to me, my path will also hold its own adventure. I am asking you to be a part of my path in this unique way. Together, seeking the Father, may our paths be united in His merciful love. This last picture is when my siblings and sister-in-law dropped me off at the convent. My dear Sister Petra is my biological sister with whom I rejoice greatly as we pursue religious life within the same community. We were blessed to be with each other for a couple of days before she journeyed off to our community in Spain. If you would like to know more about the community you can visit our national website www.sistersofmarymorningstar.org.
