Hello all My names Jonathan one of two sons to Trinidad Martinez my father. On Thursday the 20th of July my father suffered a Hemorrhagic Stroke in the brain stem area. The brain stem is what controls alot of functions like  Breathing  Blood pressure  Hearing  Consciousness And many other things  As of today we have been given two options  Option 1 Move my father over to comort care and remove him of life support so he may pass without pain Option 2 Keep him on life support and have the doctors place a breathing and feeding tube BUT he will be bed bound for the rest of his time and will need round the clock care. Also it would put him at higher risk of other illnesses and becoming brain dead. Either option will result in the same thing... him passing away. Many may not know my father but he's been thru alot in his 62 years last thing any of us want is for him to suffer and feel pain anymore. As a family we have decided to move on with comfort care. My Father was well known man amongst alot of people. He worked in HVAC, apartment maintenance, plumbing, electrical and other handyman jobs. My Father was a jack of all trades.  He was also an amazing grandfather or (PAPI) as my boys call him. There wasnt a day that my boys wouldnt wanna be alongside him. My Father raised two sons  Jonathan- thats me Daniel- my brother  He also has a wife... our mother Rosa who loved him dearly. My Father taught me early on to work hard for what i wanted and to always whole ass something and not half ass it. Weather it be changing the oil on the truck or crawling in the attic to install AC ducts. When i was younger i remember being under his 80's model ck1500 with him changing the oil not knowing what the hell i was doing but i felt that if i came out with oil stains i was doing work. So i dipped my hands in the old oil and smudged my clothes, face and hands with it... my father laughed so hard that he couldn't continue on with the oil change.  My Father and I also shared the same birthday so we always would wake up and wish each other a happy birthday. I have so many memories with my father and those are the ones that will keep me going until my time comes. He loved The Doors as do I because of him. Hey Dad "Break on through to the other side"
