Chris and his support team need our help. Chris has been fighting some medical battles for the past several months, but recently his medical needs shifted from somewhat manageable to critical in what felt like minutes. Kim has been right by his side every moment she can. Still working to pay bills and now the additional driving to the hospital. Both his son (Robert) and daughter (Felicia) live over 3 and half hours away and want more than anything to be by his side as much as possible. Felicia has been making the long drive, often unable to bring her husband and 7 children along and staying close by. Inflation has taken a toll on everyone and is proving to be extra challenging during this time. Your love and prayers are the greatest gift in blessing them, however if you can help relieve some of the monetary stresses for any of them at this time, it’s greatly appreciated. LFEBridge will take a percentage of all donations through them, so we asked Felicia to provide us with some alternative methods to donate including Zelle, Cash App, Venmo, PayPal, and an Amazon Wishlist with various items and Giftcards for food, gas, etc… (it will be updated as needs evolve). Every prayer – share - any donation is helpful and greatly appreciated by Kim, Robert, Felicia and the whole family. By the next day, Wednesday, June 28th He was transferred to ICU and intubated with an Endotracheal Tube (placed orally to the throat). For the next several days he was sedated. - On a Paralytic for 36hrs - Severe Pancreatitis that led to kidney failure and dangerous levels of abdominal pressure due to the amount of fluid leaking into his body from his pancreas that could no longer be filtered by his kidneys. Friday, June 30th He began continuous dialysis. For the next several days he was very much dependent on several machines, medications, and body positioning. Each day they were monitoring, adjusting, and regulating his various numbers from fevers to insulin to abdominal pressure to sedation and so much more through various testing. Monday, July 10th His Endotracheal Tube was replaced with a Tracheostomy (placed in the neck to the throat). This is great for reducing his stress while coming out of sedation as it can be very confusing. TENTATIVE - Wednesday, July 12th We hope he will be Transitioning to Conventional (regular) Dialysis to allow his kidneys to reactivate. Future Plan of Care Includes: - Slow weaning of sedation medication, while monitoring his body's response. - Conventional (bedside) Dialysis will begin/continue for an unknown timeline. - Trach will stay in place allowing his lungs to eventually begin working independently, timeline unknown. - Remain in ICU for an unknown timeline after waking up and becoming fully coherent. - Rehab will eventually begin with the Trach, body movement, and eventually drinking and eating. - Guidance and Support for a healthier lifestyle. - Long Term Goal, better overall health and wellness, a more conducive living situation, closer to his children, to support his long road to recovery. We will continue to share updates and adjust their LFEBridge as needs change. All funds raised will be directly deposited into their account to help with additional expenses arising for continued care, traveling, the gap in income, and overall needs. Helping them by carrying some of the financial burden, to allow them to focus on Chris's Care. Thank you for your prayers and endless love, for sharing this LFEBridge, and for all your support in various ways… God Provides.
