I have been given the amazing opportunity to participate in the Impact DTS with the organization YWAM LA (Youth With A Mission, at their Los Angeles base). The impact DTS is focused on making an impact on oneself, the local and global community. The program consists of two phases. The first is the lecture phase, where I will attend YWAM’s base in Los Angeles. While I am there I will live, study, worship, pray, and work together with a group of approximately 20 other students. We will be attending lectures based around theology and life, covering topics such as; servanthood, identity and character, missions, and cross-cultural communications. As it is the impact DTS we will also have a focus of serving while in the lecture phase as well, within the city. The second phase is the Outreach phase, where I will choose a foreign country to use what I have learned within the lecture phase, and spread God’s word and make an impact in the global community. Although I don't know which country I will go to, YWAM LA has been known to work in Asia, Africa and Central/South America. Each phase will last approximately 3 months, starting January 9nth and ending June 12th.
