Elizabeth is my best friend and an amazing mom of two amazing little boys. She is a rock star mom who does everything she can for her kids. As many of you know, Hudson’s journey with his health started when he was quite young, just 7 months old. He was diagnosed with seizures at that time. As time went on, his health continued to be a bit of a mystery. He has had countless tests, hospital stays, and has seen many different doctors and specialists to try and figure out what is going on with him. He often has signs in his body that he is fighting infections, which most of the time can not be found. His health goes up and down, he has fevers and sicknesses often, and is just generally pretty under the weather. The last month or so his health has been quite rocky. He has had ongoing fevers since the beginning of July, along with some other symptoms like sore throat, swollen tongue, fatigue, lethargy, and swollen lymph nodes. Then in the last couple of weeks he started to experience intermittent stomach pain and bouts of nausea. Earlier this week, he was admitted to the hospital in Thunder bay, and was released on Wednesday, after he was seemingly improving. Then on Thursday, he declined again, spiked yet another high fever, and was completely lethargic, did not want to walk or move, and was sleeping non stop. As the day progressed, his stomach pain became constant, and severe. The doctors in Thunder Bay thought he might have appendicitis, and he was airlifted to London, Ontario to the children’s hospital for further investigation. Upon arrival, some more tests were done that showed that Hudson did not have appendicitis, and instead he has a rare defect called a Duplication Cyst, which is a cyst in hi GI tract that has likely been there since birth. It is now extremely infected, and he is being treated with strong IV antibiotics to get his body stable enough for him to have surgery to remove the cyst. There is a strong chance that this cyst may be the cause of all of his unknown infection symptoms, and we are all hopeful that the removal of it will bring him health in the future. Let’s help this family out so Elizabeth can focus on her kids and not be stressed about missing work and balancing adulting while they’re in London.
