Vincent Aaron DeFrank, 27, died suddenly in his home on October 24, 2015. Vincent served two combat tours in Iraq as an Infantryman for the US Army. He was a decorated veteran, and was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist on November 27th, 2012, with full medical retirement. Vincent struggled daily with the unseen wounds of war, as many veterans do. Ultimately, he lost the battle, and succumbed to those wounds. Always serving, Vincent volunteered with several fire departments despite his disabilities. With his amazing spirit, enthusiasm, sacrifice and courage, he was always there to make you laugh or smile, and whether he knew you or not, if you had a need, Vince was going to help you out. Vince loved people, and loved life. His wife Lorena, a veteran herself, lost her best friend and soul mate upon her husband’s passing. They had spent countless hours planning their future together. They had just purchased property in North Carolina to build a house in which to start their family. Vince’s untimely death has left his family and friends heartbroken and Lorena without the means to finish the home her and Vince began together. The financial and emotional effects of laying loved ones to rest are often overwhelming. Please help ease the burdens Lorena will face in the coming weeks, months and years. Any donation, large or small, is greatly appreciated and will go towards the payment needed for Vince's widow to finish the house he so desperately wanted to give her.
