in July 2015 Krystal was diagnosed with stage 2b cervical cancer. She has a tumor on the cervix and within nine days of being diagnosed she was told that the cancer has already spread. Krystal has been undergoing chemotherapy once a week for the last five weeks and is having radiation every day at the Princess Margaret Hospital in downtown Toronto. Krystal and her husband Frank have two young boys aged 8 and 11. Their lives of been disrupted not once not twice but three times with the devestating news that cancer had struck their parents.it was 2011 that Frank was first diagnosed with cancer and then again in 2012 with the second type of cancer. Frank is on his fourth year of remission and the boys life had just started to return to normal when hits with the devastating news of Krystal's Krystal will be spending several days in the hospital for more intense treatment and therefore will be needing as much financial assistance as possible.I am setting up this fundraiser to help with the medical expenses that are not covered by OHIP or any extended health benefits to assist the family with every day living expenses. Since the family income has now been reduced it has made things hard for the family and this has added to the stress. The family was just getting back on their feet after the first and second rounds of cancer with Frank and the Financial setbacks they went through and now this has made this much harder on them. For all of those who know the family well you all know that hockey is one thing that kept the boys grounded and family strong. Throughout the past five years it has been the one thing that is allowed the older boy to be part of a happy group with the full support and joy while family at home struggles through cancer. The younger boy now has the same thing with his current team, going on his third year with the team, has allowed him to be in a good place and had given him some normalcy in his life. With all the disruption these boys lives have gone through a little thing such as being able to play hockey would mean the world to them. With everything this family is going through we are hoping that in November 2017 we will be able to say that Frank will be cancer free and hoping that soon after will be able to say the same about KrystalWe are not sure how much more bad luck a family can but let's hope and pray and support this family during this horrible situation and help them see that there is a light at the end of the tunnel
