Recently, Ian has been bedridden 50% of the time. He requires a medical back operation consisting of removing 3 discs and a fusion procedure. His family and friends are looking to contribute, but any other generous donations would be well received. He was in the Royal Engineers (34 Fd Sqn) for 6 years, serving in the 1st Gulf war, 2 tours of the Falkland Islands, Central America (Belize), and Denmark. The NHS has refused to operate due to cost and age, meaning he would be in constant chronic pain living on pain relief for the rest of his life. Since leaving the Army he has worked with adults who have learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, just like being in 34's lines I suppose!!! Previously he has enjoyed running and living an active life, because of this situation his mental health has deteriorated considerably. Any donations received will be gratefully appreciated for a life-changing operation Please share far and wide
