As many in the Freeport area are aware, our son Logan was significantly injured in a head-on car crash on Route 26 late Friday 07/21/23. He was air-lifted to UW-Madison where he will remain for the foreseeable future. He miraculously survived the accident with no significant or lasting head or spine injuries. However, he has a long road of recovery ahead of him having broken his wrist, femur and pelvis amongst many other less severe injuries that should heal well in time. Logan has been an athlete for as long as he has been alive. When he was little, he would do push-ups, and run on the treadmill just for fun. Although as the youngest, this may have just been to help protect himself from his older brothers, lol. He is now the biggest little brother, and dwarfs his siblings. Good thing for them he is a gentle giant. Logan has wrestled as long as he has been able to in the school setting. Wrestling is where his heart lies most. Poor kid missed the end of last wrestling season for an appendectomy, and now this. He is just as passionate about Football, even playing varsity since freshman year of High School. While just barely conscious in the trauma unit/ER the first people that he wanted to contact were his coaches to apologize for not being able to play this season now. He has been working hard to perform well this season and be more of mentoring part of the Freeport Pretzel Football Family. Logan loves spending time with his family (as much as any 16-year-old I suppose), and his nephew (pictured) is one of his favorite humans! Logan has many interests including the construction trades, healthcare, mental health, gaming, physical therapy (ironically), athletic training, weight-lifting, and helping others when/where he can. Logan is compassionate, and is the first to help those in need. We have been strongly encouraged to create this fundraiser by many in the huge community of supporters that loves Logan and our family. They are called accidents for a reason after all, and people are seldom afforded the ability to prepare for them. Our family would be sincerely grateful for any generosity extended, but please, please, PLEASE do not overextend yourself. Do not donate if you do not have it. The healthcare system may not accept hugs to pay bills but we do. We trust that no matter what comes out of all of this we will be ok. Seeing Logan’s strength, and character in the face of this adversity has been amazing. He inspires me! He is so tenaciously determined and fiercely strong! I could not be prouder of him! I have not doubt that he will overcome this as he is literally the strongest person that I know! #LogoStrong
