Hi, my name is Michelle and I started a Go Fund me for my sweet friend and coworker Yesenia Santiago. On 6/1 Yesenia went in to have a tumor removed without the knowledge that she would soon be diagnosed with Stage 3 Endometrioid Carcinoma (ovarian cancer) that had spread throughout her intestinal organs. As of 7/10 she has had to take leave from work so she can focus on the treatment road she has ahead. She was given the option for fertility preservation before starting chemo (thankfully it’s free for cancer patients) she opted in as she’s young and would love to start a family one day! She will start 3 months of Chemotherapy on 8/01 and will have a full Hysterectomy on 12/01. She will go through 3 more month of chemo starting 3/01/24. If you know Yesenia you know what a bright light she is to be around she’s calm, kind and just a genuine person. She’s got a really tough battle ahead of her and I don’t think anyone really can imagine being in her shoes until they are. If you feel so inclined, please consider donating to contribute to her medical bills as well as any bills she will not be able to cover (her SDI hasn’t kicked in yet and shes a homeowner and has bills just like all of us! Not having income makes it really tough to pay your mortgage and focus on getting better.
