Our son, Amit, has been through a difficult journey of suffering from a respiratory syndrome that left him with debilitating symptoms. We are now facing the challenge of treating his condition, and we are turning to you for help. Six months ago, Amit was living in Israel when he fell ill. Despite seeking medical attention from numerous doctors and specialists, his condition only worsened due to misdiagnosis and delayed treatment. To give him the best chance of recovery and access to specialized care, while visiting in the US he was able to seek medical assistance and a proper diagnosis. After consulting with a neurological specialist in the US, Amit was finally diagnosed with CIDP (Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy), a rare autoimmune disorder. Unfortunately, the delay in receiving proper care has led to severe post-viral neuropathic symptoms of numbness, weakness, and pain. The neurological testing revealed a diffuse small fiber polyneuropathy, and CIDP is now taking a toll on his physical abilities. To improve Amit's quality of life and halt the progression of this debilitating condition, he requires monthly IV immunoglobulin therapy for the next six months. Each treatment lasts for 42 to 72 hours and necessitates hospitalization. Early intervention is crucial to minimize the symptoms and prevent permanent physical impairment. However, the cost of this treatment is staggering, with each therapy session amounting to $16,000 and a total cost of $96,000 for the entire treatment period including medical related expenses. Amit is a newly married man and a proud father to a precious newborn. This difficult situation is putting immense strain on his young family. He should be enjoying these precious moments with his loved ones, but instead, he faces uncertainty and financial burden. We wish for him to return to work and support his family, and we yearn for a normal life for him after the treatments and through physical therapy.
