On July 4th, 2024 just after 10:30pm in Independence, Oregon, our defenseless, innocent 2-year-old daughter sustained a gunshot wound as we were leaving the Independence Days public fireworks event. As we tried to make sense of our daughter’s screams of agony I ran desperately through the dense crowds of people with her blood seeping down my arms. Her father raced behind carrying the evidence of a wagon dented from the impact. By being on that public street our family and the community at large unknowingly put their lives in the shooter's hands. 1 in 3 people struck by falling bullets are killed. The community needs to be aware that discharging a firearm within city limits is illegal, and extremely dangerous to yourself and the people around you. Firearm safety rules should always be followed and a firearm should never be fired randomly into the air. Someone somewhere knows something. You have the power to help our family find the justice that we deserve. We implore you to put yourself in our shoes. If someone shot someone you love, would you want accountability for the person responsible? We would be eternally grateful to you if you would aid us in this effort for the truth. This LFEBridge campaign will be used to compile a $2,500 cash reward which we will grant to anyone who can provide information or evidence that leads to a conviction. Additionally, Crime Stoppers of Oregon will award $2,500 to anyone who supplies a tip that leads to an arrest.
