Hello Friends, Family, and Fellow Warriors, My husband Robert Fickett was diagnosed with Bladder Cancer Carcinoma in May of this year. Robert has already endured a few procedures to remove and biopsy the tumor. Bladder Cancer is aggressive and he is currently undergoing regular scopes to ensure the cancer will not continue to metastasize. We are also awaiting further information on how far into the bladder muscle the cancer has penetrated. Depending on how deep the cancer made it into the muscle wall of the bladder will determine the course of treatment. Robert is a tenured car salesman and is taking off time from work to visit doctors. All of this has taken a toll on his family's finances. Although he makes a valiant effort to get up and go to work as often as he can, he is plagued with extreme fatigue, UTIs, and works hard to fend off common colds with a suppressed immune system. "Today Matters," is Robert's tagline for life. You can see this and other inspirational quotes all over his social media. He tries to greet each day with optimism and gratitude. Please consider giving financially to Robert and his family financially through this LFEBridge account. One hundred percent of the funds will be used to directly cover medical expenses. Your prayers and positive vibes are also appreciated. Sincerely, Mary Pittman Bladder Cancer Facts • Bladder cancer is the 6th most common cancer in the US • Men are 4x as likely to get bladder cancer than women • Bladder cancer has the highest chance of returning – between 50-80% • Given the high recurrence rate, patient support over the long haul is critical • People who smoke get bladder cancer twice as often as non-smokers • Unfortunately, at this time, there isn't a recommended screening for bladder cancer, although doctors with patients at very high risk might have the patient undergo a urinalysis to screen for blood in the urine.
